About

“There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment.”

— Robert Frank

Adedayo "Dayo" Kosoko is an accomplished Nigerian-American photographer, videographer, and creative visionary. With an innate talent for capturing the essence of people and places, Dayo has built an impressive portfolio as an art director, working on projects spanning magazines, publishing companies, celebrities, and non-profit organizations. His ability to translate vision into stunning, engaging visuals has made him a sought-after name in the industry.

In addition to his work as an art director, Dayo is a highly respected creative director, guiding teams and clients toward crafting impactful visual narratives. His approach is deeply rooted in collaboration, fostering environments where diverse perspectives and ideas thrive. Dayo's reputation for cultivating safe, empowering production spaces is second to none, ensuring that every project is infused with authenticity, creativity, and inclusivity.

One of his most notable projects is Moon Melanin, a groundbreaking photo series exploring the relationship between melanated individuals and moonlight. This personal and artistic endeavor highlights the unseen beauty of melanin illuminated by the moon, using photography as a reflective and therapeutic experience. Featuring over 50 striking images, Moon Melanin has evolved into a larger body of work, including an upcoming coffee table book. This project underscores Dayo’s commitment to storytelling that uplifts and reclaims narratives through a powerful visual lens.

Beyond his artistic work, Dayo is also a co-owner of The Dojo, a creative studio in Capitol Heights, MD. Through Royal Exposure LLC, a mentorship-driven initiative, he is dedicated to empowering young creatives by equipping them with the tools and guidance to tell their own stories. His mentorship program fosters collaboration, storytelling, and professional development, ensuring that the next generation of artists has access to opportunities for growth and success.

Despite initially pursuing a career in medicine, Dayo’s bold pivot to follow his creative passion has led to extraordinary achievements. He was named to the FORBES NEXT 1000 list, recognizing top-performing entrepreneurs in the U.S. His continued dedication to visual storytelling, mentorship, and fostering inclusive creative spaces cements his legacy as an innovator and leader in the industry.

Join Dayo’s movement of creative collaboration and discover the endless possibilities that emerge when imagination meets a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment.
